When the Saints Go Marching In....

Do you know that you don’t have to die to be a saint? You don’t even have to be a “super hero” of the faith. Did you know that King David wrote of the saints well before New Testament times? St. Paul, who wrote two-thirds of the New Testament, often wrote to churches addressing all believers as the “saints”. He was writing to those who do the will of God. Colossians 1:26 (KJV)- "Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, (Jesus) but now is made manifest to his saints." Jesus is made manifest to us all as believers, not just St. Peter, St. John, and St. Mary. The Bible says we are all “accepted in the beloved”. There is one body and while there are different parts, we are all called to endure the same race. Different parts of the Body of Christ (the church) are for different reasons: (Eph 4:12) For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ. Paul often wrote to churches saying things such as “to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints,”. It’s a call to be holy and pure and to take upon ourselves the yoke of Christ. We must die to our own ambitions and receive the Holy Spirit of God which enables us to finish “the race that is set before us”(Heb 12:1) so that we may be presented pure and spotless to Jesus Christ and abide with Him for eternity.

Are You a Saint or an Ain't?

Before the saints go marching in, all the world will be judged. You will see the Apostle Paul himself be judged. Mary and all the disciples of Christ will be judged according to their works. Your priest/pastor will be judged. The Popes will all be judged. Every man, woman, and child who has drawn breath will be judged.

"And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works." Revelation 20:12

You can be a saint by receiving Jesus Christ into your heart. You must repent of your sins and become a disciple of Jesus Christ. Read His Word (the Bible) and obey it. Ask the Holy Spirit to come dwell within you and help you live in a way that pleases Jesus. If you are willing, God will give you grace to overcome temptation.
